Why are you getting married at Christmas?

Christmas has long been Mary's favourite time of year, as Johnathan rightly knew when he proposed on Christmas morning. Additionally, there is a bit of a tradition regarding getting married around Boxing Day in the families: Peter and Judith Hay married on Boxing Day, just as both of their respective parents did. As such, it felt right to get married during The Most Wonderful Time of the Year™!

What is the dress code?

Our dress code is formal / cocktail. We invite you to dress up with us: suits and gowns are welcome, as are stylish cocktail dresses or suit separates.

Are children invited?

Yes! Children are warmly included with all family invitations. Please make sure to include them in your total head count when you submit your RSVP so we can plan accordingly.

Can I bring a plus one to the wedding?

We would love to accommodate everyone, but due to space and venue limitations, we're unfortunately unable to extend plus-ones. We hope you can still make it to celebrate with us.

Will parking be available at the wedding venue?

Yes: the venue has plenty of parking available on-site for all of our guests, free of charge.

What is the RSVP deadline, and how do I respond?

Please let us know by October 25th! You can easily RSVP right here on our website using the online form—just head to the RSVP section to submit your response.

Will vegetarian or special dietary meals be available at the wedding?

Absolutely! Since Mary herself has special dietary requirements, we have made sure all dietary needs can be catered for. Please select your preferred options when completing the menu choices on your RSVP, and feel free to reach out if you have any specific concerns.

Are there alternative accommodation options nearby?

Yes, absolutely: Beech Hill is only 3 miles from the city of Londonderry, which offers plenty of great places to stay. Check out TripAdvisor's recommended stays here.

Is there an open bar?

We won't have an open bar, but we'll be providing a selection of complimentary beverages and toasts to celebrate with everyone! There will also be a cash bar fully stocked with drinks available for purchase throughout the day and night.

How early can I arrive to the venue?

The ceremony begins promptly at 2:00 PM, and doors open at 1:00 PM. We recommend arriving by 1:30PM so you have plenty of time to find a seat and get settled.

How do I get to and from the wedding venue?

Accepted Answer

Driving is the most convenient way to reach the venue, and there is ample free parking on-site. If you plan to celebrate with a few drinks, we recommend arranging a carpool with a designated driver or booking a taxi service in advance: local companies recommended by the venue include City Cabs and Foyle Taxi.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding is hosted indoors, but there is a short, fully paved walk outdoors between the ceremony and reception areas (no need to worry about your heels in the grass!). To keep everyone comfortable in the winter air, we’ll be providing blankets throughout the venue - although bringing a warm coat is still a great idea, as it will be December in Northern Ireland!

The venue is dog-friendly: can we bring ours?

We are thrilled to include our own dogs, Daisy and Brian, in our big day! However, we kindly ask that you leave your dogs at home. Thank you for understanding.
